Randy was born in Fort Collins and raised in Northern Colorado. Both sides of Randy's family came to the Fort Collins/Loveland area in the late 1930's and most of his family still resides in Larimer County. Randy graduated from Colorado State University in May 1982 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Industrial Relations. He started his sales career during college in the summer of 1979 when he sold educational books door-to-door for the Southwestern Company. He attended sales school in Nashville, TN for Southwestern and then went to Gastonia, North Carolina to really find out what "sales" were really about. During that summer he was able to net over $4,890 in commission; not bad for less than three months of hard knocking and cold calling for a 20 year old student. During the next two summers he sold books, recruited, trained and managed other college students in the process and honed his business skills. After graduation from college he started a corporation with two other businessmen and ran a successful retail operation for a year and a half before deciding to go work for a Fortune 50 company named Lever Brothers. He 1989 he married his sweetheart, Rhonda in Fort Collins and in 1990 went to work for local company to be able to stay closer to home and not travel so frequently. In 1993 Randy was offered the sales position with the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce and spent the next three years really getting to know the business community and its many business leaders. It was during his tenure at the Chamber of Commerce Randy met the likes of Gus Williams at Coldwell Banker, Gene Vaughan with RE/MAX First Associates, Bill Neal of Wheeler Realty, and Jim Rhoades at Rhoades Realty among others and Randy and Rhonda decided that real estate was what Randy really longed to do as a career. Randy and Rhonda had a little girl named Stacey who was three at the time and Rhonda was carrying twins, Larissa and Kaitlyn, when he left his comfortable employment for the world of self employment and life of the 100% commissioned REALTOR. (What was he thinking?) He really wanted to help and consult people on the largest financial decisions of their lives. He decided that the ideal place to get educated and learn the basics was from Coldwell Banker and their excellent training they offered. His ultimate goal was to become the best with the best and his business plan and objective was to get a few years experience under his belt and then move on to one of the top RE/MAX agencies in the state of Colorado. The Gene Vaughan organization at RE/MAX First came calling and since October 1996 Randy has dedicated himself to become one of the top agents in the Fort Collins area. His philosophy is to help enough people get what they want and eventually he will get what he wants. He truly believes he is the preferred real estate agent of Very Important People-YOU!
